Launching NPI Lasers at QDUKI

New collaboration brings NPI Lasers’ high energy Rainbow Series and Blade 1030 Femto ultrafast laser systems to researchers across the UK and Ireland

Quantum Design UK and Ireland (QDUKI) is pleased to announce a new distribution agreement with NPI Lasers, bringing the company’s advanced ultrafast laser technology to customers across the UK and Ireland.

The collaboration will see QDUKI distribute NPI Lasers’ Rainbow Series, a range of compact, high-performance ultrafast fibre laser systems designed for demanding scientific and industrial applications. Plus the Blade 1030 Femto High-Energy 1030 nm Femtosecond Fibre Laser.

NPI Lasers specialises in the development of ultrafast fibre lasers for scientific research, OEM integration and precision applications. Its technology encompasses both picosecond and femtosecond laser systems, providing researchers and system developers with flexible solutions for applications requiring high-performance ultrafast light sources.

Bringing advanced ultrafast lasers to UK and Ireland researchers

Through the new agreement, Quantum Design UK and Ireland will provide local sales, application support and technical expertise for NPI Lasers’ Rainbow Series.

The Rainbow Series includes ultrafast fibre laser platforms designed to provide researchers with reliable and versatile sources for applications including spectroscopy, microscopy, nonlinear optics, precision processing and other photonics research.

The range includes:

  • Rainbow OEM – compact picosecond and femtosecond fibre lasers designed for OEM integration and system development.
  • Rainbow HP – high-power picosecond and femtosecond fibre lasers for demanding scientific applications.

The systems provide access to ultrafast laser performance across a range of wavelengths from the visible to near-infrared, supporting the increasingly diverse requirements of modern photonics and optical research.

The Blade 1030 Femto is an ultrafast fibre laser for scientific and industrial applications requiring high pulse energy and precise pulse-timing control. It delivers >5 µJ pulse energy at 1 MHz, >5 W average power and repetition rates from 1 Hz to 1 MHz, including single-shot operation.

The pulse width can be adjusted from <300 fs to 8 ps. Wide-range GDD compensation and integrated gate, trigger and analogue-control functions support flexible integration into experiments and laser-based systems.

Combining laser expertise with local scientific support

The addition of NPI Lasers strengthens Quantum Design UK and Ireland’s growing portfolio of optical and photonics technologies. QDUKI works with researchers, universities and industry across the UK and Ireland, providing not only access to advanced instrumentation but also application guidance, demonstrations and technical support.

The collaboration combines NPI Lasers’ expertise in ultrafast laser technology with Quantum Design UK and Ireland’s established scientific instrumentation network and local application support, making it easier for researchers to identify and implement the right laser solution for their work.

“We are delighted to be working with NPI Lasers and to add the Rainbow Series and Blade 1030 Femto to our portfolio,” said Dr. Luke Nicholls, Managing Director at Quantum Design UK and Ireland. “Ultrafast laser technology is an important enabling technology across a wide range of research areas, and the Rainbow Series offers researchers powerful and flexible tools for applications ranging from spectroscopy and microscopy through to precision processing.”

The new agreement further expands QDUKI’s offering in optics and photonics, while supporting researchers with access to innovative technologies from specialist manufacturers.

Quantum Design UK and Ireland is now supporting enquiries for the NPI Lasers Rainbow Series across the UK and Ireland.
